A little massage goes a long way to relieving that facial tension and stress.

A dull, lackluster complexion can be the result of poor circulation. When the blood and lymph flow in your face is stagnant, pores can become clogged, cell turnover becomes sluggish and the face can begin to look older than it actually is. All it takes is 2-5 minutes a day to reduce stress, improve your complexion and prevent wrinkles. So how can you get started? Here are some facial massage basics to get you going:
- Wash your face and apply a facial oil like rosehip, jojoba or coconut (avoid this one if you are prone to clogged pores).
- Gently begin stroking with two fingers between your brows up to your forehead. Do 10 slow strokes, steadily moving outward so that you cover the entire forehead.
- Gently make 10 outward circles on your temples.
- Place two finger on each side of the bridge of your nose. Gently glide outwards, passing over the under-eye area, until you reach the top of your cheekbone just in front of your ear. Do this 10 times, being especially delicate in the eye area.
- Make 10 small circles around the top of your cheekbones.
- Place two fingers on either side of your chin and glide towards the soft area just below your ear. Perform 10 smooth strokes.
- Make 10 easy circles over the lymph nodes in your neck (you know, the ones that swell when you get sick).
- Make 10 long strokes from your cheekbone, over the lymph nodes in your neck, down to the crook in the center of your collarbone.
- Perform 10 gentle circles at the center of your collarbone.
